Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and... I believe in miracles.

Confession Time. Although, I believe that a woman should not wait to relish in her desires, enjoy her life today, and that there’s no other place to start than from where you are, I’ve been waiting. So, what have I been putting the brakes on?  What have I been waiting for? Well, I’m not proud to admit it, but, I’ve been waiting…

To write about what I love.
To share my experiences.
To create amazing conversations around living a life of style, beauty and elegance.
To go after allow what I really want to come into my life (more on that to come).

So, why have I been sitting around twiddling my thumbs?

Well, it’s easy to listen to the mind, which has been playing funny tricks on me, telling me things like:

I need to make my website perfect first.
I need to have a clear brand.
I need a strategic plan.
I need to be a better writer.
I need better photographs.
I need a video team.
Basically, I need everything that I don’t think I have before I can start living/sharing/inspiring.

Really, Tonya?

It hit me last night over raclette and wine, “Why am I not sharing these experiences with women?”  I mean really.  Have you ever had raclette?  If not, we need to have that conversation, don’t ya think?  And, do you know how I got out of a major funk this morning?   I want to share that too. And, that difficult dinner guest?  We’ve all had them, but how to deal…we need a conversation.  And, how did I pack for a 2-week trip in France with just one  bag?  Well, you may just want to know about that too!

Ah…the waiting game.  Why have I been playing it so well?

Don’t you see mon amie?  This is what we do to ourselves as women.

We tell ourselves that we need more money before we can enjoy life’s luxuries.
We believe that we need the perfect body before we can adorn the beautiful one we have.
We believe that we need our own home before we can enjoy wherever we happen to lay our head.
We need a clear plan before we take inspired action.
We need more time before we learn a language.
We think we need a man before we can experience love.
We need this before we can be/do/have that.

So, we wait.

But, it’s dangerous, because as we sit back wanting things to be different before we make that call, write that book, give that speech, learn that language, buy that dress, light those candles, smell those flowers, enjoy that meal….life passes us by.

And, let’s be honest.  It’s not like we’re stuck in a 6-hour voter’s registration line or at the Apple store on the day of the latest iPhone release.  There’s nothing stopping us except…look in mirror.

Darlings, for me, the waiting game is over.  You can expect to be hearing a lot more from me, and I most likely will not be talking about going bigger or goal setting. If that’s what you’re looking for, then I’m probably not your gal.  Quite honestly, those topics bore the daylights out of me (yes, that is a very Southern saying) .

I prefer to talk about the things that makes life truly a luxurious experience, from Paris, panties and passions to brilliant conversations and finding joie de vivre in an seemingly mundane day.

Sound good?  Bon!

So, tell me.  What are you waiting for?  And, what do you want to talk about?
